Mangalore: The publicity of the national conference “Awakening” organized by National Women’s Front will be launched from Mangalore on 17th October 2014. The national and state leaders of NWF today addressed a press conference here at Mangalore’s Woodland Hotel.
The Awakening conference for women empowerment will be held at Coimbatore, Tamilnadu on 16th November 2014. At the press conference the National treasurer of NWF Shahida Tasnim presented the theme and objectives of the Awakening Conference. She stated that “This conference will be a milestone for the movement for women empowerment in India. We believe this conference will allow us to form broad base alliances with various other women organizations striving in various parts of the country. It is indeed a high time that the agenda of Women empowerment is seriously discussed in the country and it must receive its due priority”. The 16th November conference will be a full day programme which will have a delegates session in morning and a grand public meeting at 3 PM. The conference will also have various exhibition and information stalls. The NWF panel also presented the publicity plan of the conference which will include extensive poster campaign, public meetings, seminars and documentaries.
The Karnataka state president of NWF Fatima Naseema presented the details of the publicity inauguration programme at Mangalore. The programme will be held on 17th October at Loyala Hall at 2.30 PM. The programme will be attended by National committee members of Popular Front from all over the country. The chief guests will be Jyoti Guruprasad, Renowned columnist and writer, Flavia A’Souza, President Catholic Sabha, Padmashree T, Researcher from BR Ambedkar Research Centre and Mumtaz Pakaladka, Aasra Women’s Foundation. The programme will be presided over by National president of NWF Shahida Aslam. The NWF leadership invites the women of India and various women organizations to join hands with NWF to strive for the noble cause of empowering women.
